My Encounter With A Gym Boy

Siddharth Chatterjee a sports freak, who love power-lifting and wrestling, also a daring person who participated in Roadies season lately. I had a little chit-chat with him and here are some interesting things about him I got to know. So, let us have a look-

Q. How do you start your day?
I wake up at 4:30 am daily (no matter what the weather is), then I do cycling and yoga and then some exercise. I actually avoid oily foods, soft drinks, tea and coffee.

Q. What includes in your diet?
I eat boiled eggs, milk with protein and banana for breakfast, then boiled chicken for lunch and then again boiled chicken with chapattis at dinner. Being a sportsperson you have to take good care of your health. I always keep that thing in mind and carry on my diet accordingly.

Q. What about your hairstyle?
Previously I had different hairstyle, secret behind this hairstyle goes to Roadies audition in Noida, where I had to complete some daring task which proved me as a different person.

Q. Actor/actress you hate the most.
Shah Rukh Khan I don’t like him since my childhood.

Q. Actor/actress you like.
Salman Khan, Amir Khan, John Abraham, Vin Diesel and John Cena and from actresses I like Ayesha Takia Azmi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Angelina Jolie.

Q. Person you want to get married.
Yami Gautam, if she ever come in front of me I will definitely marry her.

Q. Your ideal person?
Steve Cook.


Q. You like wrestling too much, who is your favourite wrestler?
Randy Orton. Because he knows how to play it wisely.

Q. Can you cook?
(Smiling) No, I cannot cook, but can make coffee and omelette. If you’ll ever try coffee made by me you’ll forget coffees from Barista, CafĂ© Coffee Day, etc.

Q. Tell me something about your family.
I have a very small family just me, my brother, my mom and dad. My dad is in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, my mom is a music teacher and my younger brother is studying B.Tech from Babu Banarsi Das University and he is just opposite of me.

Q. Your dream place?
Mumbai. I love this place and I will definitely buy a house there in near future.

Q. Friends you made in this class and why only them?
Prashant and Vipra. Because both helped me when I needed their help.

Q. Your favourite food?
Non-veg (mostly). I love chicken korma.

Q. Your favourite restaurant/hotel?
Wahid’s Restaurant.

Q. What are your views about the treatment of society toward acid attack victim and rape victim girls?
For acid attack victims, they want more support from their family to cope up with the world as compared to rape victims, because they lost their identity. Rape is also one of the biggest issue but once they get married then they have a support of their husband.

Q. Will you marry someone who is acid attack victim or rape victim?
My all opinions about her will be positive. I really don’t care what had happened to her, all I want is that she has a good nature.

Q. Will you help a girl who's harassed in public or any other place by men?
Yes, I will definitely help her. I actually helped a girl when I was in BA-2nd year, she was a student of French and she was Mexican. As she was a foreigner, so her clothing was also different from Indian girls. I was getting late for my class and I was going up the stairs to attend my class and she was coming down, behind her were four boys, all of a sudden she slipped from the stairs. Those boys instead of helping her, they were laughing at her and then they were passing absurd comments. I helped her from that situation and after that we became friends.

Q. Are you from Lucknow?
No, I am not from Lucknow. I was born in Bengal. When I was in class 3rd my father was transferred in Amethi at first and then Lucknow, from then on I live here.

Q. Why you opted this course?
I completed my graduation from Lucknow University. While completing my graduation I was thinking to study professional course which has some great value, so that is why I opted for MA-JMC.

Q. What you wanted to become in your life?
Sports Journalist. Because I am a sports person.

Q. Most embarrassing moment of your life.
It was about 2009, I went to someone’s marriage party with my family and at that time I was skinny. My father’s friend wanted to see both of his sons, my father called us and introduced me and my brother Yatharth to him. That uncle saw me and laughed at me and then he said to my father that why didn’t you give him something to eat. That incident hurt me straight to my heart and then I promised myself to be a healthy person.

Q. Your most memorable moment.
In the beginning, before becoming a champion of power-lifting, when I went for the state-trial, I saw there were many body-builders standing in the queue, as I was not fully prepared and watching other competitors only made me anxious and embarrassed both at the same time and in my mind I was thinking that I won’t be selected. But luck played its part and I got selected in Top 10.

Q. Your biggest achievement till date?
I played two times under-19 cricket for Uttar Pradesh. Two times power-lifting championship and three times power-lifting championship National level for Lucknow University, securing second position continuously 3 years.


Q. Fitness for you…
Being a fit person, we can do any work easily. I always want to see myself as a fit person. I can’t bear to see myself ugly. I placed a mirror of my size in my room. I never wanted to hear any bad comments regarding my health or physique.
